How are you Link4Growth-ing?

Following on from the previous blog post (How do you Link4Growth) which introduced the concept of Link4Growth as a verb, I thought it might be interesting to explore how this can work in practice. Hence the content of this blog piece.

When we first discover Link4Growth and of course the reason for its incarnation was to bring people together; to have conversations. For many, the reason we might want to do this at all, is because we are in business and as we know when we are running a business we need to meet people; for suppliers, advice, information, signposting, and of course customers.

But meeting others for business is only one component of Link4Growth-ing, what if you weren’t in business? Link4Growth is an inclusive association with a much wider scope than just attending to the needs of business.

As we strive to develop and grow our passion, business, or endeavour, we will enter into conversations, often with an eclectic group of people. My experience is that some will be “right on the same page” as us, others may have a wildly differing opinion, but there will be some common ground within the ideology of Link4Growth that appealed to all.

As I converse with others at events, I am reminded of the 7 principles of Link4Growth, three of which are; we are all important, all able to contribute, and all to be respected. For me, as I am Link4Growth-ing then being aware of myself and how I am doing with these principles is a discipline that I practice each time I attend a meeting is held.

Link4Growth invites us through its principles, values, and behavioural guidelines to work on being the best version of ourselves… there is no road map, guidebook or right way… it depends on so many things that make each of us unique. No right way, just what works for each of us.

I have found that the more curious I become when speaking to others, then the greater the number of strange coincidences and synergies begin to appear. It has often been said that; when the student is ready then the teacher will appear. Being able to open up to folk and be curious without judgement is so important these days. I like to feel that we are cultivating an environment of openness without judgement as we practice Link4Growth-ing. You never know where the next teacher (or student) will appear from…

In a world where we could be forgiven for being apathetic and feeling like what is the point, I really love the idea of being part of a group of people committed to their own evolvement. We may not of course see eye to eye on everything, but our intent to be “the best version of ourselves”, co-create something better for the future, be compassionate, kind and empathetic is a great start! I think it would be great to have a lot more Link4Growth-ers don’t you?
