Why have we updated the Website?

Why have we updated the Link4Growth website?

Many people have asked, why are we updating the Link4Growth website?  As you will probably be aware on the 1st May 2017 Link4Growth transitioned to an Association.  Although on paper a fairly arbitrary change it actually has far reaching ramifications.

If you haven’t had a chance to read the blog relating to this change then you can read it here.

The Link4Growth imagery was created in 2011.  Back then it was a very different proposition to the one it is now.  Over the 5 years we have tried a lot of different things.  Some worked, some didn’t, but we learned by taking action.

The Link4Growth Association is ‘an idea’, ‘a way’ of bringing people together to reconstruct our communities through communication and connection.  It is not the only way, but it does have 5 years of experience of doing it, and crucially the people that were there in the early days are still here… they are a fantastic resource for those wishing to adopt the range of flexible tools now available.  This experience will be invaluable in helping decide the best way forward in new areas around the country and beyond… everything (almost) is now poised for massive action.

First though the website.  It needs to reflect the community focus of Link4Growth ‘the association’… it needs to more closely resemble the community flavour rather than the more corporate style of old… and it needs to communicate that Link4Growth is providing a toolset for people who want to take action in their community and It needs to reflect the uniqueness of each District in the ‘What’s on in my area?’.

Link4Growth the Association is not here to tell people what to do… each area of the country is very different.  What works in Cambridge will not work in North West London and vice versa.  The tools have to be implemented differently… but together we can collaborate and co-create ideas that work in a devolved manner right around the country.  Local people with local knowledge, connections and desire to change things for the better… it is no longer one size fits all.

We are nearly there… the new livery has been created… and if you haven’t realised, the style it is based on the colours contained in the illustration of the 7 Principles of Link4Growth.

This is a new era for Link4growth as ‘the Association’ … watch out for the new version of the Link4Business website coming soon too. This will reflect the changed nature of this area… Link4Business as a holistic Business Development Network… more on that later!

Chris is passionate about community and has been involved with Link4Growth and community building since the start in 2012. Chris now devotes most of his time to facilitate connection, collaboration and community in the district of South West Herts as well as supporting the Link4Growth Association.
