Link4Growth inspiring more like minded people…

By Chris Ogle on July 3rd, 2019

As you might be aware back in 2017 Link4Growth became an Association. There were many reasons why this was implemented, one of them was to transition to a Leaderless organisation. Plenty to read about that via this link and you might like to check out Starfish and the Spider if you would like to explore yet further.

Not really covered in the references above is something a bit deeper. By moving to Leaderless and operating the organisation in a lean manner, the responsibility to make things happen can (and is) devolved to local people to take action. Provided they adopt the core principles and behaviours outlined in the Association’s guidelines they can replicate what is happening where they are…

But what if?

What if people wanted to operate a leaderless organisation like Link4Growth but doing something a bit more specific… So, same principles, same ethos, same behaviours but to achieve a more specific objective.

This would be a good thing right? Although Link4Growth is a bit unusual compared to regular organisations it provides a powerful alternative for people to take personal responsibility, participate in different ways and personally grow through engagement and interaction. Rather than being told what to do, Link4Growth encourages us to find what works for us.

If we had 100’s of organisations operating in this fashion we would have 1,000’s of people experiencing new ways of doing things, interacting to grow the idea, and being much more excited and probably happy too…

Say hello to the PHS (People’s Health Service)

Many in Link4Growth will have already heard about this initiative to bring local Health and Wellness practitioners together to create a new platform to support people staying on their journey to a fitter, healthier, happier and longer life… there are so many people involved in this “Health & Wellness” industry wouldn’t it be great if we could bring them all together to collaborate in building something pretty special?

Well that is what the PHS is. Not a business, not an organisation, not even an Association, just an idea… not for profit, no agenda, just an umbrella name that we can use to signify that this is being operated and we are part of it…

This was launched in South West Herts (SWHertsPHS) on the 24th June 2019… here is the write up (blog) about the launch.

The great thing is that anyone can begin to develop the same ethos (PHS) where they are… All it requires is a core group of people who offer Health & Wellness services and products, love the idea of keeping people out of hospitals / doctors surgeries and believe that collaboration is much better than working alone.

Of course there is double benefit if people are also part of Link4Growth (and / or Link4Business) as this is where we learn and practice the core values, share information, grow ourselves and our endeavours.

Can other ideas also fit into this approach?

Yes… could you imagine 100 such ideas, 1,000’s of people taking greater levels of responsibility in their communities and the impact that might have on our town, county, country and even the world… small acorns and all that!
